About Turkey

Healthcare in Turkey

Healthcare issues have never left the public agenda and the healthcare system has entered a long period of development under the 2003-2013 Health Transformation Program. Turkey is currently seeking to join the European Union and in preparation for this, both government and private healthcare institutions are conducting strict implementation of quality, technical and medical standards by the Health Transformation Program.

Most of the hospitals have local and international accreditation including the JCI (Joint Commissions International), the JACHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), and ISO (International Organization for Standardization), and have affiliations with Western medical groups and facilities too.

Close cooperation between medical research institutions and industry has led to significant progress in the development of special medical equipment, laboratories backed up by CAT, advanced microcomputer-supported devices, and treatments for critical situations are interesting cases in the world.

The purpose of the Health Transformation Program is to increase the quality and efficiency of the healthcare system and enhance access to healthcare facilities. As a result of the Program, Turkey’s healthcare spending grew, approximately 10.5 percent annually. The Ministry of Health is responsible;

for the development of health policy both state and private
for the operations of public health services
for the governmental health care budget

All these factors are constantly monitored by the Ministry of Health with the Independent Turkish Medical Associations. Both of them set the local standards and guidelines that are followed by hospitals, healthcare facilities, and medical practitioners.

Both public and private sector hospital numbers have been growing strongly; the number of hospitals is about 1.400, and the total number of beds is about 200.000. The hi-tech medical structure has an integral part of modern diagnostic procedures and operations in Turkey with laser surgical instruments, computerized monitoring systems, and other life-saving & pain-relieving devices.

How the admissions process of Tanfer Clinic:

Preliminary;

Contact Tanfer Clinic with any question, regarding medical issues, procedures, physicians and travel to Turkey…In case of a surgical procedure, all the medical history and current imaging must be sent. The medical history must contain the details of clinical condition, the surgical procedure/treatment requested. Should there be previous test results (x-rays, laboratory tests results, summary of illness, etc.) with all other medical documents,
A representative confirms that we received your query,
Tanfer Clinic checks the requirement and keeps in touch with an experienced physician or related corporations taking into account the query& requirement and responses in 24 to 48 hours. If a physician or related corporation has additional questions that will be required, a Tanfer Clinic representative will call you upon these questions.

Itinerary;
Tanfer Clinic prepares and sends the medical itinerary. Normally in Turkey, there is no long waiting period, that your treatment can begin immediately,
If a leisure program is required, it is prepared as taking into account the expectations and medical itinerary,

Quotation;
